Beate Gördes has lived in Cologne for over 20 yrs as a freelance artist, using photography, video and sound as independent media. Her evolution in the field of video art has been accompanied from the outset by sharing work with other artists; in non-public internet forums a trusting relationship can be built, enabling an insight into the origins of individual works and sometimes leading to collaborative projects between individual artists.

A key factor in her creation of the BLUE HOUR has been the interaction of people from diverse artistic backgrounds and Beate Gördes has used such networks in a very productive way.
